In a concerted effort to cultivate student potential through holistic pedagogical practices, SD Al Falah Darussalam 2 successfully convened “My Presentation Day” on Saturday, April 25, 2026. Held at the Green SA Juanda facility, the event engaged the entire fifth-grade cohort alongside their parents in a collaborative academic environment. This initiative represents a significant departure from traditional rote learning, functioning instead as an innovative educational platform designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. By prioritizing the development of communicative competence, analytical reasoning, and oratorical confidence, the program empowers students to articulate complex ideas within a formal public sphere.
Pedagogical Framework and Systematic Execution
The implementation of My Presentation Day was structured around a rigorous preparatory phase, beginning with the selection of specialized topics within the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curricula. To facilitate a sophisticated delivery, students were tasked with synthesizing their findings into structured digital presentations using platforms such as PowerPoint and Canva.
This process was underpinned by a robust support system, wherein students received multifaceted mentorship from both their parents and their educators (ustadz and ustadzah). This collaborative approach ensured that the final outputs met high academic standards while fostering a sense of shared intellectual inquiry. During the preliminary rounds, students presented their research before a panel of adjudicators and their peers, demonstrating their ability to organize and defend their arguments systematically.
Advanced Evaluation and Global Interaction
Following an objective and merit-based assessment by the jury, twelve finalists were selected to advance to the culminating stage of the competition. This final phase was further enriched by the inclusion of an international perspective, featuring Ahmad Haimour, a native speaker from Palestine, as a guest adjudicator. The presence of a foreign interlocutor served as a vital pedagogical tool, providing students with a rare opportunity to practice linguistic adaptability and maintain psychological composure when interacting with a diverse global audience.
The competition concluded with Gama Auffar Pradana of Class 5.2 securing the first-place position for his presentation, “Self-Driving Cars.” Auffar’s discourse was noted for its technical depth and social relevance, as he elucidated the mechanical operations of autonomous vehicles and the ethical imperatives driving their innovation.
“Empirical data suggests that Indonesia remains among the Southeast Asian nations with the highest rates of traffic fatalities, a significant portion of which are precipitated by microsleep,” Auffar argued, effectively linking technological advancement to public safety exigencies.
Concluding Synthesis of Educational Outcomes
The My Presentation Day initiative serves as a comprehensive vehicle for student growth, yielding profound benefits that extend far beyond the classroom. The primary outcomes of this program include:
First, improve the students’ cognitive refinement. Students gain experience in information synthesis and the development of systematic logical structures.
More than that, it also improves the students’s rhetorical proficiency. Through public speaking, students master the nuances of tone, body language, and persuasive communication.
Also, the students’ ethical fortitude. The competitive nature of the event instills core institutional values, including academic integrity, personal responsibility, and professional sportsmanship.
By institutionalizing such high-caliber academic events, SD Al Falah Darussalam 2 continues to champion an inspired learning model that supports the comprehensive intellectual and psychological maturation of its students, preparing them for the complexities of future academic endeavors.
