LPFDT Vision

An educational institution in which every aspect of its activities is grounded in the values of the Qur’an and the Sunnah, reflected through noble character (akhlaq al-karimah).

LPFDT cultivates an education rooted in the Qur’an and the Sunnah, creating an environment where noble character flourishes in every step of the learning journey. Here, children are guided to grow with strong faith, broad knowledge, and refined character. It is the ideal place for future generations to develop with intelligence, manners, and divine blessing.

  1. To carry out da’wah through the field of education.
  2. To support parents in nurturing their sons and daughters to become sholeh–sholihah children, characterised by:
    • a firm and sound creed (aqidah),
    • noble character (akhlaq al-karimah),
    • broad and meaningful knowledge,
    • advanced and relevant skills,
    • a deep sense of responsibility towards their religion, their nation, and the surrounding environment,
    • and readiness to face the challenges of their era while seeking the pleasure of Allah Almighty

Our Goals

The goals of the Al-Falah Darussalam Educational Institution Tropodo are as follows:

  1. To nurture and develop the innate nature (fitrah) of the students, characterised by:
  2. Guiding students to become servants who worship none but Allah Almighty (Qur’an, Adz-Dzāriyāt: 56).
  3. Guiding students to behave in ways that consistently refer to and apply the teachings of the Qur’an and the Hadith.
  4. Forming students with sound aqidah and noble character, disciplined in their worship and possessing a high level of concern for Islam.
  5. From these three aspects, students are expected to grow into insān kāmil (complete and virtuous individuals), which in turn supports the development of the following functions:
  6. Guiding students to become leaders, managers, and stewards (khalīfah) on earth (Qur’an, Al-Baqarah: 30).
  7. Encouraging students to observe, study, analyse, utilise, and preserve the universe.
  8. Equipping students with intellectual ability, practical skills, and a strong sense of social responsibility.
  9. Through these three functions, students are expected to become individuals of high rank in the sight of Allah and respected among mankind.

Our History

Our History

The Al Falah Darussalam Tropodo Educational Institution was established in the mid-1990s under the auspices of the Darussalam Tropodo Mosque Foundation. It emerged as a new form of alternative education in the city of Surabaya, implementing an Islamic Full Day Education model—an Islamic all-day schooling system that differs from conventional school models. LPFDT applies the fundamental concepts of Integrated Activity and Integrated Curriculum, meaning that all programmes and activities—physical, psychological, and social—conducted both at school and at home remain within one unified educational framework. Thus, for 24 hours a day, students continue to learn and receive guidance from both teachers and parents.

The educational strengths offered by the Al Falah Darussalam Tropodo Educational Institution include the following:

  • Children receive general education that anticipates the rapid development of science and knowledge.
  • Children obtain Islamic education that is balanced, appropriate, and proportional.
  • Children are prepared to become future leaders of the ummah and the nation through the daily cultivation of leadership skills within their learning activities.
  • Children receive character education that anticipates social and cultural developments, particularly in an era marked by fast-flowing information and globalisation.
  • Children’s potential is channelled through various extracurricular activities.
  • Their talents, interests, and multiple intelligences are nurtured from an early age through continuous monitoring within the guidance and counselling programme.
  • The institution is supported by trained and professional teaching and non-teaching staff who are ready to provide high-quality education and personal development for students.
  • Students receive practical religious instruction and guidance (daily prayers, supplications, Islamic manners in eating and drinking, and the practice of salah).

To prepare students for life, LPFDT also embraces the concept of Long Life Education (lifelong learning). Therefore, the skill of learning how to learn is instilled within each student, helping them develop strong religious and academic habits. Over time, these habits grow into a lasting learning culture.

Human resources form the primary factor in the management and implementation of academic activities, and this remains a major focus at LPFDT. The institution is highly selective in its recruitment of both academic and administrative staff, ensuring quality and fulfilling its responsibility to stakeholders—parents, guardians, and the wider community—as well as ensuring the sustainability of LPFDT’s long-term mission. Most LPFDT personnel hold a Bachelor’s degree (S1), as shown in Table 1 and Table 2, and further study (Master’s degree—S2) continues to be encouraged and facilitated.

Our approach integrates Full Day School, Student-Centred Learning (SCL), Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), Enjoyable Learning, Al Qur’an Accelerated Learning (Darussalam Method), as well as multimedia and multi-method teaching. To achieve effective SCL, the school carries out mapping in the following areas:

  3. Students’ psychological and social development
  4. Students’ level of independence
  5. To support this, the PKA (Pembiasaan, Keteladanan, Apresiasi) learning strategy is implemented through:

  7. Exemplary conduct from teachers and parents
  8. Appreciation and encouragement rather than criticism, In addition, student character is shaped through:
  9. The influence of favourite teachers and parental role-modelling to develop students’ akhlaq
  10. Favourite subjects that build academic attitudes and scientific thinking
  11. Hobbies that nurture discipline, independence, and responsibility

All of these are aimed at ensuring students grow with healthy minds and bodies, forming strong and resilient character.
