Sidoarjo, January 20, 2026– The atmosphere in class today felt different and full of enthusiasm. Today was the first day that students at Al Falah Darussalam 2 Tropodo Elementary School participated in learning activities with a native speaker from Australia named Mr. Amrtesh.
In this first meeting, the topic covered the Past Tense. The activity took place in a lively, interactive discussion atmosphere, combined with fun games by Mr. Amrtesh, which helped the children grow in confidence in speaking English. The children seemed very active in asking, answering, expressing their ideas in English, while enjoying games that encouraged their courage to speak.
“The children were incredibly enthusiastic. They didn’t just study grammar — they boldly spoke with me in English, showing confidence and joy. It was truly a special occasion!”said Mr. Amrtesh with full appreciation.
One of the students of Al Falah Darussalam 2 Tropodo Elementary School, Syifa, also expressed her joy:
“I am very happy to learn with a native speaker. It is amazing and makes me more confident to speak English.” This activity not only provides a unique English learning experience but also fosters students’ confidence in communicating in an international setting. The result is a classroom atmosphere filled with positive energy, where every student is encouraged to try and continually improve.
Ustadzah Novi, an English teacher at Al Falah Darussalam 2 Elementary School in Tropodo, also assisted in the event. He emphasized that the hands-on learning experience with native speakers provides a valuable opportunity for students to experience an international classroom environment. He believes this activity not only improves English language skills but also fosters students’ confidence and courage to communicate in an international setting.
